An easy day after our Disney Marathon

We all slept in past 10am this morning.  I went for our morning pastries and we lazed around the apartment until almost 2pm.  I really wanted to give Seb a rest after our long day yesterday.

We picked up some sandwiches and headed to the nearby park on rue de la roquette for lunch.  Seb played in the park for a little while and then we took a little walk around our neighbourhood ~ down Leon Frot, along Charonne and back up Ledru Rollin, stopping for cafe cremes and hot chocolate along the way.

After another few hours of rest, we walked to a little crepe place I had read about on Paris by Mouth ~ West Country Girl on tiny passage St Ambroise.  We had oysters and saucisson to start.  Seb had a ham and cheese crepe, I had mushroom and chèvre and Den had boudin noir and stewed apples.  The crepes were made in the tiny kitchen behind our table and came to us hot, crispy and delicious.  Seb and I both had the salted caramel dessert crepe and Den had the lemon sugar one.  With 2 glasses of cider and a beer, dinner was 58 euros.  Seb made us proud by eating everything and even trying Den's boudin!  This little place has a kicky vibe, plays classic rock and fills up fast.  They turned us away for lunch on our first day because we didn't have reservations, so I made sure to make some about 2 hours before we went.  We were the first ones there since we were dining fairly early by Parisian standards at 7:30, but the place was filling up when we left a little over an hour later.

We took a stroll along Republique to enjoy the last rays of sunshine and walk off our meals.  This was a nice quiet day after a week of lots of walking, late nights and making sure Seb crosses off most of the things on his list.

Tomorrow is our shopping day ~ Den wants to get me something for my birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary (30 years!! only old people are married 30 years!!), I'd like to get a Paris cover for my iPhone and we have family shopping we want to do.

Bonne nuit de Paris............

  3. Congratulations on 30 years of marriage.

I was going to ask if Seb has been willing to try the food you and Den are eating and you've answered my question.
