I've always done it by either wire (also not so reassuring) or credit card. If you have a few minutes, check the blog I wrote during last year's trip - you see a lot of similarities between our experiences. Yes, you pay in cash on arrival, once you have been shown around the apartment and can ensure everything is to your satisfaction.
We have either withdrawn euros from our bank before leaving or withdrawn from an ATM in Paris once arrived. It's more expensive to get them from your bank before you leave, but you may not have a choice depending on the amount you have to pay (ATMS and your own bank will limit the amount of cash you can take in 1 day).
You are in Paris one month before us ~ we are taking our grandson in May. Have a great trip,
Jojohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03441261530965420429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4255073531329768737.post-24714421701911035882012-03-19T08:21:47.988-04:002012-03-19T08:21:47.988-04:00Hi - I somehow stumbled on your blog and am enjoyi...Hi - I somehow stumbled on your blog and am enjoying reading it. It sounds so much like a trip my wife and I took last spring (2011), even down to eating pizza at Momo (we had an apartment on rue St. Paul). We seem to have very simlilar tastes and preferences, not too many tourist sights and lots of walking and exploring. I'll be using your blog as a tour guide when we return in April (2012). Did you rent from Thierry at Paris Best Lodge? We have an apartment in the 5th that we've reserved from him, and were wondering about how it's going to work, having to deliver cash for the apartment. What was your experience with that?Lloydhttp://www.ronick.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4255073531329768737.post-84795901950892572002011-10-15T08:17:58.843-04:002011-10-15T08:17:58.843-04:00Hi Cybee,

There was drizzle and wind, but no big rain while we were out.
Hey, you can say "I bought that umbrella in Paris!"johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03441261530965420429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4255073531329768737.post-40683312478767568492011-10-14T17:09:50.270-04:002011-10-14T17:09:50.270-04:00...wait...what day are we talking about? Ducked in to purchase an umbrella which I never needed thereafter (as the rain stopped and it never really rained again of substance even my following days in London! ha!)(but what a cute umbrella it is!)Cybeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03530317680579209911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4255073531329768737.post-75425810515926332842011-10-07T18:54:02.167-04:002011-10-07T18:54:02.167-04:00Yes, did you get caught in the rain earlier in the...Yes, did you get caught in the rain earlier in the day? It really came down hard around noon (or so...I really wasn't paying attention to the time). I love reading about the restos you have tried ! (and all your other adventures as well!). I am like you..I tend to walk unless it is just not reasonable to do so. Keep having fun!
